These crispy jalapeño popper cream cheese pinwheels wrapped in smoky bacon are a quick and easy party snack that combines spicy, cheesy, and crunchy flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 23 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (about 8 oz)
  • 68 slices thinly sliced bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out thawed puff pastry to a 12×12 inch square.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border around edges.
  5. Roll the puff pastry tightly into a log, pinching the seam to seal.
  6. Slice the roll into 12 even pieces about 1 inch thick.
  7. Wrap each slice with half or a whole slice of bacon, tucking ends underneath.
  8. Place wrapped pinwheels seam side down on the baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bacon is crispy and pastry is golden brown, checking after 15 minutes to avoid burning.
  10. Let pinwheels cool on a rack for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Keep cream cheese softened for easy spreading. Don’t overfill to prevent bursting. Wrap bacon tightly to hold shape. Check oven after 15 minutes to avoid burning. Use a pizza cutter for clean slices. Chill filling if too loose before spreading.
