Easy Creamy Mango Lassi Recipe with Cardamom

A quick and refreshing mango lassi smoothie with a hint of cardamom, ready in just 5 minutes. This creamy, tropical drink is perfect for any occasion and easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh diced mango (about 150 grams) or frozen mango chunks (thawed)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) plain full-fat or Greek yogurt, room temperature
  • ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk or any plant-based milk like almond or coconut
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom, freshly ground if possible
  • 4 to 5 ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional garnishes: pinch of saffron threads or crushed pistachios

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice mango into small chunks. If using frozen mango, thaw for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add mango chunks, yogurt, milk, honey or maple syrup, and ground cardamom to the blender.
  3. Blend on high speed for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and creamy. Pause and scrape down sides if needed.
  4. Add ice cubes and blend again for 15 to 20 seconds for a chilled smoothie.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey or milk as desired, then blend briefly.
  6. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with extra cardamom, crushed pistachios, or saffron threads.
  7. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for best sweetness and flavor. Room temperature yogurt and milk blend more smoothly. Add ice cubes last to control thickness. Freshly ground cardamom provides the best aroma. For vegan version, substitute yogurt and milk with coconut yogurt and almond milk. Adjust sweetness based on mango ripeness.
