A creamy, cheesy, bacon-packed slow cooker chicken recipe that’s easy to make with just five main ingredients. Perfect for cozy dinners and busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet (about 1 tablespoon) ranch seasoning mix
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 100g)
  • Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cool. Set aside.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker. No need to pre-cook.
  3. Soften the cream cheese by microwaving for about 20 seconds if needed. Stir in the ranch seasoning mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the cream cheese and ranch mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  6. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks and stir to combine with the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the top. Cover and cook on low for another 10-15 minutes until cheese melts.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired and serve hot.

Notes

If the sauce is too thin after shredding, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of cream cheese or cook uncovered for 10 minutes to thicken. Use fresh ranch seasoning for best flavor. Cook bacon until crispy for texture contrast. Cooking on low heat keeps chicken tender and juicy.
