A creamy, fizzy, and boozy cold brew whiskey root beer float perfect for Father’s Day or any celebration, combining nostalgic flavors with a smooth coffee twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (240 ml) cold brew coffee
  • 12 oz (355 ml) root beer
  • 2 oz (60 ml) whiskey (bourbon or rye)
  • 2 large scoops (about 1 cup) vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Maraschino cherry (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your glasses or jars in the fridge or freezer for 5 minutes.
  2. Scoop 2 large scoops (about 1 cup) of vanilla ice cream into each chilled glass.
  3. Slowly pour 4 oz (120 ml) cold brew coffee over the ice cream.
  4. Measure and pour 1 oz (30 ml) whiskey gently over the cold brew and ice cream.
  5. Slowly pour 6 oz (180 ml) root beer to fill the glass, allowing it to fizz around the ice cream.
  6. Optionally, gently stir with a spoon to swirl the layers slightly or leave as is.
  7. Top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or long spoon before the ice cream melts.

Notes

Chill all components including glasses, cold brew, and root beer for best results. Pour root beer slowly to avoid excessive foaming. Use full-fat ice cream for creamier texture. Adjust whiskey amount to taste or omit for non-alcoholic version. Serve immediately to enjoy fizz and texture. Optional toppings include whipped cream and maraschino cherry. For dairy-free, use coconut milk ice cream and non-dairy whipped topping.
