Quick and easy crispy salmon bites with a sticky honey garlic glaze, made in just 10 minutes using an air fryer. Perfect as a light dinner or appetizer with a delicious balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) salmon fillet, skin removed, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper, freshly cracked
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry 1 lb (450 g) of salmon fillet. Cut into roughly 1-inch (2.5 cm) bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine 1 tablespoon olive oil, ½ teaspoon paprika, and ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper. Toss the salmon pieces gently in the mixture to coat evenly.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it warm up for about 3 minutes.
  4. Place the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if needed.
  5. Air fry for 6 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crisping, until golden crust forms and inside is tender.
  6. While the salmon cooks, whisk together 2 tablespoons honey, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon rice vinegar in a small bowl.
  7. Transfer cooked salmon bites to a mixing bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over them while hot and toss gently to coat thoroughly.
  8. Sprinkle sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately for best crispness and flavor.
  9. If bites aren’t as crispy after saucing, pop them back in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning the honey.

Notes

Pat salmon dry to ensure crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Toss gently after coating in sauce to keep crispy edges intact. Sauce can be made ahead and stored in fridge for up to 2 days. If no air fryer, use broiler or skillet but expect different texture and longer cooking time.
