Quick and easy air fryer hot dogs with perfectly crispy skin and juicy inside, ready in just 8 minutes. A fuss-free, healthier alternative to boiling or grilling.

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs (beef, pork, chicken, or turkey; natural casing preferred)
  • Hot dog buns (brioche, white, whole wheat, or gluten-free)
  • Cooking spray (optional, avocado or canola oil)
  • Toppings: yellow mustard, ketchup, diced onions, relish, sauerkraut, shredded cheese
  • Butter or margarine (optional, for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly spray the hot dogs with cooking spray if desired.
  3. Place hot dogs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
  4. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes, shaking or turning the hot dogs halfway through (at 4 minutes) for even browning.
  5. Optional: Lightly butter buns and toast in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes after removing hot dogs.
  6. Assemble hot dogs in toasted buns and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

Preheat the air fryer for best crispiness. Turn or shake hot dogs halfway through cooking. Avoid overcrowding the basket for even cooking. Use perforated parchment paper to prevent sticking if needed. Toast buns separately and watch closely to avoid burning. For frozen hot dogs, increase cooking time by 2-3 minutes. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crispiness.
