A quick and simple recipe for frozen banana bites dipped in chocolate and topped with colorful sprinkles, perfect for a refreshing summer treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup assorted colorful sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them into 1/2-inch thick rounds, keeping them uniform for even freezing.
  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place banana slices evenly spaced out.
  3. Freeze the banana slices for at least 1 hour or until completely firm.
  4. Melt the chocolate chips with optional coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  5. Dip each frozen banana slice into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off, then quickly sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top.
  6. Place the dipped banana bites back on the parchment-lined tray and freeze for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
  7. Transfer the frozen banana bites to an airtight container and keep in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

Use slightly underripe bananas for best dipping results. Ensure all equipment is dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. Work quickly during dipping as chocolate hardens fast. Freeze banana slices first to help chocolate set without cracking. Store in airtight container with parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
