This creamy loaded buffalo chicken dip is the ultimate party appetizer—quick, easy, and always a crowd-pleaser. Made with simple ingredients like cream cheese, shredded chicken, and hot sauce, it comes together in under 30 minutes and disappears just as fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/3 cup Frank’s RedHot sauce
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. If using rotisserie chicken, remove skin and shred meat with two forks. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch dressing. Stir until smooth.
  4. Add Frank’s RedHot sauce and stir until the mixture is uniform in color.
  5. Fold in the shredded chicken and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Mix gently until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and all of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbling around the edges and golden on top. For a deeper golden crust, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end.
  9. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley. Serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

For a less spicy dip, reduce hot sauce to 2 tablespoons and increase ranch dressing to 3/4 cup. To make ahead, assemble dip without top cheese, cover, and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Add cheese and bake, adding 5-10 minutes to baking time. If dip looks oily after baking, stir before serving.
