These Easy Honey BBQ Meatballs in the Crockpot are tender, juicy, and coated in a sweet-and-smoky glaze that caramelizes beautifully. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or a comforting weeknight dinner, they come together with just 10 minutes of prep and simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs frozen meatballs (about 3236 meatballs)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley or sliced green onions (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Place the frozen meatballs directly into the crockpot. Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs and gently stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours (or on HIGH for 2 hours).
  4. About 2 hours in, stir the meatballs gently to ensure even coating.
  5. After 4 hours, check that the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is thick and glossy. If the sauce is too thin, leave the lid slightly ajar for the last 30 minutes. If too thick, stir in a tablespoon of water or chicken broth.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired. Serve immediately as an appetizer with toothpicks, or over rice, mashed potatoes, or slider buns.

Notes

For a thicker glaze, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir into the sauce during the last 30 minutes. If using homemade meatballs, brown them in a skillet first for extra flavor. The crockpot’s ‘warm’ setting keeps them perfect for parties for up to 3 hours.
