This slow cooker Easter ham is a quick and easy recipe that yields a tender, juicy, and flavorful ham perfect for family gatherings and holidays. The low-and-slow cooking method locks in moisture and the sweet-tangy glaze adds a delicious finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Bone-in ham (about 4 to 5 pounds; fully cooked, spiral-sliced for easy serving)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water or apple juice
  • Optional: Pineapple slices or maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Remove the ham from packaging and pat it dry with paper towels. Place it cut side down in the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and garlic powder until smooth. If too thick, add a teaspoon of water or apple juice.
  3. Pour the water or apple juice into the bottom of the slow cooker around the ham.
  4. Brush or spoon about half of the glaze over the top and sides of the ham.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the ham is heated through and tender.
  6. About halfway through cooking, brush the remaining glaze over the ham for a glossy, sticky finish.
  7. Optional: In the last 30 minutes, arrange pineapple slices and maraschino cherries on top and cover to finish cooking.
  8. Remove the ham from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Check the ham at 4 hours to avoid overcooking as slow cooker temperatures vary. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing to keep it moist. You can use a slow cooker liner for easier cleanup. For a caramelized crust, finish under the broiler for 3-5 minutes after slow cooking.
