A simple, elegant charcuterie board for two, perfect for a relaxed date night. It comes together in under 15 minutes with a balanced mix of cheeses, meats, and accompaniments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz Brie or Camembert
  • 4 oz Sharp Cheddar
  • 4 oz Goat Cheese Log
  • 4 oz Prosciutto
  • 4 oz Genoa Salami
  • 2 oz Soppressata (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Fig Jam or Honey
  • 1/4 cup Cornichons or Pickled Onions
  • 1/4 cup Marcona Almonds or Toasted Walnuts
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Fruit (red seedless grapes and sliced green apple)
  • 1/4 cup Dried Apricots or Figs
  • 1 small Baguette
  • 1/2 cup Good Quality Crackers

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients (5 minutes): Take cheeses out of fridge to warm up. Slice baguette into thin rounds (1/2-inch thick). Optionally toast at 350°F for 5-7 minutes. Slice apple and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning. Slice cheddar into thin triangles or cubes. Leave brie whole or cut into wedges.
  2. Place Your Bowls (2 minutes): Set small bowls on the board first (e.g., for jam, olives) in a balanced, natural flow.
  3. Add the Cheeses (3 minutes): Place cheeses in different areas of the board (brie on one side, cheddar on another, goat cheese in the middle) for easy access.
  4. Arrange the Meats (2 minutes): Fold or drape prosciutto into loose ribbons near one cheese. Arrange salami slices in a small, overlapping pile.
  5. Fill in the Gaps (3 minutes): Add clusters of grapes, apple slices, almonds, dried apricots, and cornichons in small piles around the board, creating pockets of color and texture.
  6. Add the Crackers and Bread (2 minutes): Arrange crackers and baguette slices around the edges or in remaining gaps in a single layer.
  7. Finish with a Drizzle (1 minute): Drizzle honey over brie or goat cheese just before serving, or place a small spoon in the fig jam. Admire your work.

Notes

Take cheeses out of fridge 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning. The 3-3-3 rule (3 cheeses, 3 meats, 3 accompaniments) works well for two. Don’t overcrowd the board; give each ingredient breathing room.
